Summit Contracting is expanding its operations in Seward, Nebraska.

On November 28, Summit Contracting broke ground on their Nebraska headquarters in Seward, Nebraska. Speakers at the ceremony included Summit Contracting’s CEO Tyler Samuelson, President Jerad Hutchens, South Region VP John Southwick, Greg Butcher Seward City Administrator, and Jonathan Jank President & CEO from the Seward County Chamber & Development Partnership.

“On behalf of our organization, we truly appreciate your investment in Seward County,” stated Jank during the groundbreaking. “We welcome Summit Contracting to the Seward business community.”

The company has their corporate headquarters in Platte, South Dakota. This expansion will enable Summit Contracting to better serve customers in Nebraska and the surrounding states.

The 15.7-acre site is located west of Nebraska Highway 15 on Izaak Walton Road. The parcel was purchased, annexed, and rezoned to enter the corporate limits of Seward. The development will feature a campus of development including a showroom, corporate offices, warehouse space, and staging areas for construction projects.

Summit Contracting was founded in 2009. They currently have three other locations in South Dakota and an office in Iowa. Their main product is constructing ag facilities ranging from grain bins and complete grain systems to post frame and metal buildings. Summit Contracting currently has 30 employees in Nebraska.

Construction on the site has already begun. The anticipated grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new Summit facility in Seward will be in 2024.
