Tyler Samuelson

CEO and Principal

Tyler Samuelson grew up in Platte, South Dakota, where small-town life and agricultural roots shaped his values of integrity, work ethic, and relationship-building. He earned his degree in Construction Management from South Dakota State University, which gave him the foundation to launch a business with a vision.

In 2009, Tyler and his wife Katy started Summit Contracting to serve farmers with high-quality construction solutions. Under Tyler’s leadership, the company expanded from post-frame buildings to grain systems, irrigation, and complete on-farm solutions across multiple states. In 2022, he moved into the role of CEO to focus on Summit’s long-term growth and vision.

As CEO, Tyler works closely with the leadership team on strategy, development, and partnerships. He is passionate about growing strong rural communities, building long-term customer relationships, and investing in the people who make Summit what it is. He also supports new business ventures that align with the company’s mission and help create more opportunities across the Midwest.

Tyler enjoys seeing the impact of Summit’s work—not just in the buildings constructed, but in the careers advanced and communities supported. He is proud of the company’s team-first culture and the entrepreneurial spirit that runs through every project.

He lives in Platte, South Dakota with his wife and their three daughters. Family is the foundation of everything he does and continues to be his greatest motivation, both personally and professionally.
